Today's Strip: First Heat

I've been doing this for about 3 months now and I'm having as much fun as I did the first day I did it. It is hard to remember that I started this as an "exercise", and that it is still an excercise. It's a comic strip drawn on a 2"x8" stip of paper. I do it once a day, and I make it up as I go. Sometimes when I sit down I have an idea of what I'm going to draw and sometimes I don't. I set no limits on myself in terms of language and subject matter.
What have I learned?
A ton.
And I continue to learn.
I'd like to Thank you ( all two or three hundred of you) for being a good audience. I'll continue to do this for as long as I can.
Now let's see where else these guys will take us.

Well this looks like it might be a quick fight.

At first when I was reading your post, I thought you were about to say that you decided to call it quits.

But it was really just a thank you to your readers. Whoo, we all dodged a bullet with that one.

The blogging world would be very boring without your daily strip to read. So if I haven't said this before.

THANK YOU for taking the time to draw your strip :-)

No Lyndon, thank YOU!
I'm having too much fun to quit now. The original goal was to do this for a year, and then put out a book.
At this rate, I could keep doing this indefinatly.
I've decided that at the end of the year, I might consider a format change, ie the way the strip is drawn. I might start drawing them more like proper newspaper comics. The problem with that is that they will take longer to draw. The great thing about doing them at the 2"x8" size is that I can do them fast.
I'll have to see where I am in a year careerwise.
But for now, I'll just keep doin' what I'm doin'!

I've learned a lot from handel.

Hey Paul!! It usually takes me between an hour or an hour and a half to do one strip, barring interruptions, which are constant. You know, dogs, dishes, etc.
The fastest I was ever able to do one was 20 minutes.
Count! I learned from handel too! I...wait, no..that was Mark Kennedy. I haven't learned anything from handel, except not to argue with crazy people.
Although he did give some good feedback at one point. I call that "Good Handel". I actually miss "Good Handel". As my wife pointed out, he was one of my biggest fans. Unfortunatly, he's the Annie Wilkes type of fan.(Anybody else see "Misery?)
Tara!! Thanks for your enthusiasm and don't worry!! I'm gonna keep doing this for as long as it's fun!!!

Sorry robo, I shouldn't have brought up handel. it's a shame, cuz I remember old handel too, before he became sniper-on-the-clock-tower handel. Oh well. RIP asshole. Now, let's GET READY TO RUUUUUMBLE!
